As the social worker here I speak to both Mesothelioma victims and people with other asbestos related illnesses. My training is in social work and not as a medical provider, so I am unable to answer your medical question specifically, but I can make some suggestions. Contact a hospital/clinic that specializes in treatment of asbestos related diseases for more information and another opinion. We have a list on our site or contact me directly for additional info. Also, it would be important to learn as much as you can about his diagnosis and other asbestos related illnesses (including meso) and explore treatment options. It is scar tissue inside the lungs. How is this different from Mesothelioma? He was a carpenter all his life, working around asbestos, cement, dust, etc. The Dr. says there is nothing they can do for him. I started giving him Vit E capsules five years ago, and he made some improvement. Vit E is great for clearing up scar tissue inside and outside the body. Also, do you know if Pulmonary Fibrosis or Mesothelioma is hereditary? Thank you for your help. Five years ago, my father was diagnosed with Pulmonary Fibrosis. It is scar tissue inside the lungs.
